Class Descriptions

Point Cloud Workflow

Ever hear of a point cloud? After this class by Technical Specialist Brian J. Hailey P.E., you’ll leave with a complete understanding of LiDAR, point cloud data, and an entire workflow illustrating the models you can create. He will take you on a journey beginning with importing raw data into ReCap, then into InfraWorks, Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks. Architects, Contractors, Civil Engineers and Facilities Management professionals will all find value in the use of point clouds.

Bluebeam Camping Trip

Unfortunately, we won’t really be going camping, but Technical Specialist Brian Juge, AIA, RA will teach you about the new Bluebeam 2017 features and efficient work flows by prepping you for a fictitious camping trip. You’ll learn about 3D PDFs, auto form creation, dynamic fill, using 360 pictures, quantity take-offs, stitching images, and much more. In addition, we will be giving away inflatable camping couches to every attendee, and 10 lucky participants will walk away with a subscription of Bluebeam Revu for their iPad. Rumor has it Juge will be handing out a few other camping items too!

Fuzor – Not Just Virtual Reality

Make your Revit models come to life in virtual reality. But don’t stop there! Norah New and Tony Crawford will take you through the ins and outs of Fuzor. Learn about 4D construction scheduling, clash detection, live measurements, setting up CCTV cameras, daylight studies, highlighting specific elements, such as specific trades, and more.

How to Share:

We are all in this together. So why not make it easy on each other and share files amongst other trades the right way? Maybe you are using AutoCAD and need to work with Revit files. Maybe you are using Revit and need to work with Civil 3D files. We’ll give you best practices for sharing different file types across the most popular programs in the Autodesk AEC Collection.  Even if you are using just one program and never share files outside of your organization, there are things you still need to know and learn. Each student will receive a flash drive loaded with tools and apps that will help with day to day work.

What’s in the Cloud?

What are BIM 360 and A360? Technical specialist Deni Cox is here to help you understand and harness the power of the cloud services. In this presentation she’ll cover details on your Autodesk Account, cloud services, free A360 perks, and the BIM360 tools you should be using to increase your project team’s efficiency and collaboration.
